Welding and Hot Work Safety eLearning Course

Overview

Trenches don't give warnings before they fail. The Trenching Awareness course prepares construction workers to identify trenching hazards, understand how protective systems work, and respond when conditions change. Through real-world scenarios, an interactive VR simulation, and a short quiz, learners will build the awareness and confidence to make safer decisions on the jobsite. An interactive simulation is available for desktop, mobile, and VR headsets. Drawn from OSHA Standard:1926.650 - .652, and industry best practices.

Objectives

On completion of this course the learner will be able to:

• Identify common welding and hot work hazards and their controls to reduce preventable injuries.
• Choose safe PPE, body position, and equipment habits to protect yourself and people working nearby.
• Reduce your exposure to fumes and gases using ventilation and respirator best practices.
• Help prevent hot work fires by handling cylinders safely, controlling combustibles, following the permit, and fire watch.
