Lockout Tagout (LOTO) eLearning Course

Overview

Hazardous energy kills and injures thousands of workers every year, and most of those incidents are preventable. This Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) course shows you why it matters, and puts you in situations where you have to act on it. Learners develop the personal accountability and critical thinking needed to make the right call - even when there's pressure to take a shortcut.  An interactive simulation is available for desktop, mobile, and VR headsets. Drawn from OSHA Standards 1910.147, 1910.333, 1926.416, and 1926.417, and industry best practices.

Objectives

On completion of this course the learner will be able to:

• Recognize the main hazardous energy sources and why LOTO is critical.
• Identify the three employee roles in LOTO and the devices used to control hazardous energy.
• Apply and release LOTO correctly by following each step, including verifying isolation and controlling stored energy.
• Describe the correct steps for transferring a lock during a shift change to maintain continuous equipment protection.
• Practice problem-solving skills when procedures are unclear or when site-specific challenges arise.
