Overview
Sanctions are known as complicated to understand and difficult to keep up with. They have a reputation for being a tricky yet necessary area of compliance. In video format, our sanctions experts provide clear context around sanctions, how they work, and why they are important, in simple, accessible terms.
We start by discussing the purpose of sanctions and the kinds of governments or organisations that impose them. We then detail the most common forms of sanctions and explore how these restrictions might impact an organisation's everyday activities. Through understanding how financial and asset-freezing measures work, and how import and export controls work, learners will be able to relate the concept of sanctions to their own role and understand the importance of navigating and responding to sanctions risks.
