Overview

Confined space work can turn dangerous fast when roles are unclear, permits are incomplete, or people react on impulse instead of following the plan. The Permits, Roles, & Safe Rescue course helps learners understand how safe confined space entry is supported before work even begins  through communication, preparation, and knowing when to stop. Learners build the judgment needed to recognize when conditions have changed and why following the permit and rescue plan matters. An interactive simulation is available for desktop, mobile, and VR headsets.  Drawn from OSHA Standard: 1910.146, 1926.1202 - 1926.1213, and industry best practices.

Objectives

On completion of this course the learner will be able to:

  • Explain what makes a space permit required and when it can be reclassified.
  • Identify the required sections and critical information on a confined space entry permit before entry begins.
  • Describe entrant, attendant, and supervisor duties during PRCS entry and changing conditions.
  • Recognize basic rescue planning, retrieval gear, and safest non-entry rescue actions.
