Confined Spaces & PRCS Awareness eLearning Course

Overview

This course introduces you to Confined Spaces and Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS), helping you recognize these spaces in your workplace and understand what makes them so dangerous. You'll learn about atmospheric, engulfment, and configuration hazards, and the controls used to address each before entry or work begins. You'll also learn how to recognize warning signs of unsafe conditions, when to stop work, and your role and responsibilities as an awareness-level worker.  An interactive simulation is available for desktop, mobile, and VR headsets.  Drawn from OSHA Standard: 1910.146, 1926.1202 - 1926.1213, and industry best practices.

Objectives

On completion of this course the learner will be able to:

• Recognize confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces in your workplace and understand why they're dangerous.
• Identify atmospheric, engulfment, configuration, and other hazards that can cause serious injury or death.
• Recognize warning signs of unsafe conditions and respond by stopping work, exiting, and reporting immediately.
• Understand your role as an awareness-level worker and when supervisor authorization or additional training is required.
