Overview

Children and young people in education should be surrounded by adults who empower them to succeed but ultimately keep them safe. In this course we look at the importance of safer recruitment, what legislation is relevant and offer a step by step guide on how to recruit staff with safer recruitment at the forefront of your decision making.

  • Recognise the impact of historical recruitment process failings and identify the lessons learned
  • Understand the range of checks in place to ensure safer recruitment
  • Ensure their workplace and role comply with statutory guidance and legislation
  • Maintain a vigilant culture and keep safeguarding on everyone’s agenda
